Bob Marley named second most popular Facebook celebrity in 2011

Legendary Reggae musician, the late great Bob Marley has been named the second most popular artiste via social media outlet, Facebook, according to statistics.

The website, made the announcement earlier this week; placing Marley one place behind Barbadian pop sensation, Rihanna. The placements were determined though combine tallies of prominence in the media, profile interests and the number of Facebook “likes.” Both artistes earned over 47 million “likes” on Facebook's Most Talked About Artist lists.

Other artiste who featured in the top ten on Facebook’s Most Talked About Artist drew mass interest this year included Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Usher and David Guetta.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s single, We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris won the website’s award for most listened to song of 2011.

Bob Marley has several Facebook pages in his honor to date given the impact his music had internationally. He’s known for several classics such as One Love, Natural Mystic, Could You Be Love amongst a plethora of others.
