Una década después de 'Club Reggae' llegará a las tiendas de registro, Island Records lanzó el álbum que para muchos siempre la introducción de los talentos musicales de Sly Dunbar y Robbie Shakespeare.

Publicado en 1981, "Sly & Robbie Presenta Taxi" fue concebido como una colección escaparate para imprimir Taxi famoso Twin Riddim y aparece una docena de los discos más vendidos del año anterior, realizados por algunos de los nombres más grandes del mundo Reggae - su número incluyendo luminarias como Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs los Wailing Souls y  junior Delgado.

Club reggae

Poco después de su lanzamiento a principios de 1971, 'Club Reggae' superado el famoso troyano 'Tighten Up' la serie de gama de la compañía económicos más famosos del álbum.

Destacando las pistas de Troya más popular en la escena del club en ese momento, los discos sigue siendo el más consistente de mayor venta colecciones de artistas de reggae de varios de los próximos años, corriendo para un total de 6 volúmenes (incluidos los no numerados 1974 set).

Ahora, por fin, el 30 de enero, el álbum que lanzó la serie de más de cuarenta años, finalmente estará disponible en CD como el próximo en la popular serie de Trojan "Originales"

Bob Marley named second most popular Facebook celebrity in 2011

Legendary Reggae musician, the late great Bob Marley has been named the second most popular artiste via social media outlet, Facebook, according to statistics.

The website, entertainmentwise.com made the announcement earlier this week; placing Marley one place behind Barbadian pop sensation, Rihanna. The placements were determined though combine tallies of prominence in the media, profile interests and the number of Facebook “likes.” Both artistes earned over 47 million “likes” on Facebook's Most Talked About Artist lists.

Other artiste who featured in the top ten on Facebook’s Most Talked About Artist drew mass interest this year included Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Usher and David Guetta.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s single, We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris won the website’s award for most listened to song of 2011.

Bob Marley has several Facebook pages in his honor to date given the impact his music had internationally. He’s known for several classics such as One Love, Natural Mystic, Could You Be Love amongst a plethora of others.
