Iba MaHr, the young sensation for authentic Jamaican

Iba MaHr, the young sensation for authentic Jamaican reggae/ lover’s rock genre. Born January 21, to Ms. Roselin Embden and Mr. Glendon Greaves, he was given the name Mario Greaves at birth but has emerged with strong African culture, thus granted the name by friends, Iba MaHr, ‘Iba’ African name, meaning Humble and Calm while ‘MaHr’ is really an acronym, meaning Mario of Harar, Harar which is a small province in Ethiopia.

As a toddler, Iba MaHr was nurtured by his grandparents, Mrs. Joycelyn Greaves and Mr. Vincent Greaves in the Community of Cheesefield. Always being in the centre of attraction, every Sunday evening Iba MaHr would dance to his grandfather’s stereogram, playing hits from the 70’s, while singing to each song as if they were of his era. It was not until he was successful in his Common Entrance Exam to go on to High School that he moved to reside in Linstead with his mother. Being the only child for Ms. Roselin, iba was the main priority, with morality and education as her advocacy, leaving very little things undone if any. Now the youngman chants from a small town in the parish of St. Catherine called Linstead, that is most popular for the famous “Linstead Market” and the Song titled, “carry mi ackee go Linstead Market”.

After completing secondary education at Charlemont High and sixth form at Dinthill Technnical High, Iba went on to study a Bachelors Degree in Computing and Management Studies at the University of Technology. Even though he had the ability to write songs since going to high school, it was only while in University his peers pushed him to perform his own words.

In 2008, Max ‘Romeo’ Smith of CHARMAX MUSIC released his first song, “HAD IT & LOST IT”, for a various artiste album titled, “DEVIL ON DI RUN”. Later, Phillip ‘Fatis’ Burrell of XTERMINATOR PRODUCTIONS released his second single, “WHERE YOU ARE”. The young sound has also work with great producers and record labels such as, UIM Records, Marlon McCubbin, Bizzarri Records, Jermaine “Lenky” Edwards and more recent Roland “Rollie” McDermot of Rollins Records.

"I take pleasure in doing love songs. Essentially, I am inspired to sing about real life occurrences, but in reality as artiste we create melodies then connect words to them to craft stories that reflect other people’s lives. The energy, mood and my emotion at times may affect how a song might turn out. Feelings, be the sombre, joyful or sorrow also play a part. I now see the music making a paradigm shift from roots and culture, not that it has died but just need to be played more. Regardless of what is being played, the people need redemption songs, especially in these times of division and world crisis. I can only say that Reggae music is a medium through which we connect and touch people in any situation, so I work to preserve its legacy”, said Iba MaHr.

The artiste was able to survive the many dangers and harm of his volatile community through advocating love, peace, righteousness and spiritual consciousness. As his name represent, he is quite humble, and does not let anything or anyone trouble his innate calm. With Rastafari as his inspiration, roots and culture is always what he promotes, along with social commentary and soulful-reggae love songs that speaks out to the hearts of people, those in love or out of love. Iba MaHr’s music ranges from reggae, lovers rock and soulful roots genre.

Unidas materiales Sabor tiro de forma continua durante más de un año y capturó la atmósfera única de los eventos donde realiza. El video contiene fotografías de la fiesta Suena poderoso, realbeat, español Rototom Sunsplash, levantamiento eslovaco y también una actitud exitosa gira por pequeñas salas. La escena reggae nacional e internacional está representado por el General Levy, Ward 21, Kolibal Almirante, DJ Damalistik, Kaya DJ y muchos otros. La producción, dirigió y editó el clip completo se hizo cargo del bajista y productor de bandas Djei Gogo.

Ronda de Rally seguido por el primer video de la actitud Visitas álbum, que fue lanzado en marzo de 2011 y que involucró a personas de catorce nacionalidades. Más clips de las canciones y los Niños actitud, el Grupo de trabajo, aparece fuera en un futuro próximo.

Sabor Unidos tienen una temporada de conciertos exitosos en lo que equivale a un nuevo récord de los clubes y festivales en la República Checa, Polonia, Hungría, España y la República Eslovaca. El punto culminante de la temporada fue un gran rendimiento para dos mil en el más grande de Europa Rototom Reggae Sunsplash Festival, junto a estrellas como Stephen Marley, Shaggy, Luciano, y otros. A principios del próximo año, la banda se prepara para lanzar remixes de roble de vinilo en el taller de un ingeniero experto británico y productor de Derek février.

Mungos Hi-Fi Forward Ever

The Scotsmen behind Mungo’s Hi-Fi have for years collaborated with veterans including Ranking Joe and Earl 16 as well as performing with new talents such as Solo Banton and YT. And their momentous 'Soundsystem Champions' album, released some three years ago, included tough tracks such as Top Cat’s Herbalist and Marina P’s jazzy Divorce a L’Italienne on the Belly Ska riddim.

Today their follow-up hits the streets. 'Forward Ever' is according to the press material “a distilled concoction of soundsystem smashers” and features singers and deejays such as Sugar Minott, Kenny Knots, Pupa Jim, Soom T and Omar Perry.

'Forward Ever' is also stated to have originated and evolved in the Jamaican sound system tradition capturing moments from live sessions and taking them fresh into the studio. Each track has also been picked for the positive reaction it has received when played live. Accordingly it is also compiled by how Mungo’s Hi-Fi would play it in the dance.

You can pick it up on 2x12” 180g vinyl in gatefold sleeve or as a CD.

Hacer algo de la nada, el primero de una serie de proyectos culturales denominado "Hacer con una raya roja ', cuenta con una escultura de sonido único creado por el sonido artista YuriSuzuki, en colaboración con DJ Dedos Al, cantante / compositor y diseñador Ocupa el lugarCappy Mateo Kneebone .

Los 2,5 metros de alto, la escultura de sonido en pleno funcionamiento se realiza mediantemiles de reciclar las latas de cerveza Red Stripe en parte recogidos en Notting carnaval de este año Hill. El proyecto celebra la cultura DIY de raíces jamaicanas de la marca, con el reggae, duby música jamaicana influencias también.

Hacer algo de la nada se estrena el 16 de noviembre con una fiesta de lanzamiento exclusivo en el metro de la aldea.

La Cuna del Reggae, el lugar que vio nacer a grandes artistas como Bob Marley,Shaggy y Sean Paul,ha sido galardonada a la gala del turismo,recibiendo el premio al Destino Líder del Caribe.
Jamaica se ha convertido en el destino favorito de muchos en el mundo,con un incremento en visitantes en un 5.7%,este dato fue validado en el marco de los Premios al Turismo Mundial (World Travel Awards) 2011,que se llevaron a cabo en el Sandals Royal caribbean Resort & Private island en Jamaica, el pasado 19 de Octubre.
Por Sexto Año Consecutivo,Jamaica fue reconocida como Destino Lïder del Caribe,ademas fue condecorada con otros galardones claves como los de Mejor Destino para Cruceros del Caribe,Mejor Puerto para Cruceros del Caribe (8 rios), Mejores Destinos de Playa en el caribe (Negril),Mejor Aeropuerto del Caribe (Aeropuerto Internacional de Sangster),Mejor centro de Reuniones y Conferencias en el Caribe ( Centro de Convenciones de Montego Bay),Mejor Destino para Turismo Deportivo, Mejor Proyecto de Desarrollo Turistico (Puerto de Falmouth) y el Premio al Logro en el Caribe.
Jonh Lynch.El director de Turismo de Jamaica,reveló que están muy honrados tras ser reconocidos como el destino número 1en el Cribe,acotando que estos premios reafirmaran los esfuerzos incansables para pomocionar a Jamaica como Destino,Así como el continuo crecimineto y renovacion de la infraestructura,conformando así una exitosa estrategia para nosotros.

Reconocimiento para Bunny Wailer

El legendario Bunny Wailer,ex compañero de Bob Marley y Peter Tosh,ha sumado un nuevo reconociemiento en su carrera artistica,tras ser exaltado en el campertown High School Hall of Fame.
Neville 'Bunny Wailer' Livingston,ha ganado premios Grammys, ha recibido la quinta medalla de sistinción mas importante de jamaica, y ahora será reconocido en una ceremonia organizada por la Alumni´s Past student´s Association,que reconoce el trabajo de grandes estudiantes jamaiquinos.
La ceremonia realizada en el Terra Nova hotel,ubicado en St.Andrew,Jamaica,Sirvió para recordad aquellos tiempos en la primaria,y reencontrarse con viejos amigos.
En una entrevista ofrecida al diario The Gleaner,el cantante reveló que no se arrepiente de haber estudiado en la Camperdown High school,acotando que el afectó mucho cuando falleció el entonces director de la escuela Noel White,y recuerda el gran momento cuando estuvo en el campeonato anuela de atletismo.Asi mismo,resaltó que siempre participó en otras actividades deportivas como el cricket,la natación y el futbol.Por su parte,Cynthia Cook,ex compañera de estudio de Bunny,lo describió como una persona muy chistosa,que siempre participó como cantante en las ferias de la escuela.
